The authors study the ways to replenish the vocabulary of the modern Chinese language due to the penetration of English-American borrowings, adaptation/non-adaptation of the latter to the hieroglyphic environment, correlation of functional features of the English vocabulary and the intensity of replenishment of the vocabulary
